Northern Illinois Multi-Jurisdictional Honor Guard

TRAINING

Once an agency has an officer assigned to the team training starts in-house.  We provide basic drill and ceremony training to new member's.  This training is based off the procedures utilized by the U.S. Army's Old Guard, who guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington, D.C.  This training includes, but is not limited to, marching, facing movement's, changing of the guards, rifle team, flag folding, casket detail, etc... We also do refresher training for all involved member's and any personnel from the Agency we are currently assisting with a detail.  Training is conducted by senior member's of our team.  We encourage new and current member's to attend training at the Minnesota Law Enforcement Memorial Association that is available once a year.

SERVICES PROVIDED

When we are requested by families to assist with Honor's there is a wide assortment of services the Unit provides.  We can be present and assist with planning from day one and provide much of the necessary equipment and personnel.  We can do as little as assisting with guard duties and training each agency's personnel for the details.  The decision as to what services are provided, if any, is completely that of the requesting family.

We conduct annual memorial services and events for National Police Week in the Greater Rockford Area. As well other memorial details through out the year.
